Mary E. Righter

Mary E. Righter, 75, of Oley, passed away February 17, 2013 in Berks Heim.

She was the beloved wife of Mark G. Righter, whom she married in 1955.

Born in Reading Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Weaver H. and Lena Mae (Shimp) Schearer.

Mary graduated from Amity High School in 1955.

She was a District Justice secretary for District Court from 1970-1990. She also worked at Vanity Fair Outlets for 10 years.

Mary was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Amityville.

She loved growing and arranging flowers.

Mary volunteered as a judge for the flower arrangements at the Oley Fair.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Mark G. Righter Jr., husband of Anna May, Muhlenberg Township, and Marshall E. Righter, husband of Christine, Westerly, RI.

She is also survived by her brother, Weaver James Schearer, and two sisters, Judith A. Emerich and Patricia L. Radiosky. There are also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild surviving.

Mary was predeceased by her son Matthew J. Righter, who died in 2003.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, Inc., 423 Main St. Oley, PA 19547. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Oley Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association of America, 237 Court St. Reading, PA 19601.
