Mary J. Ranalli

Mary J. (Hinkle) Ranalli, 90, of West Lawn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Fred A. Ranalli, Sr., to whom she would have celebrated 74 wonderful years of marriage with on October 27th of this year.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Mamie M. (Gambler) Hinkle.

Mary was a lifelong member of the Victor Emmanuel II Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary enjoyed taking trips to the casino and loved to play on slot machines. She loved to cook, especially for her family. She enjoyed baking for every occasion, from baking for casino trips to making cookies for all of her grandchildren's weddings. Mary was very proud of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Mary Ann, wife of Larry Stone, West Lawn; Richard, husband of Rebecca Ranalli, West Lawn; and Fred A. Jr., husband of Janice Ranalli, West Lawn; four grandchildren: Dr. Patrick Stone, husband of Dr. Liz Harris, West Lawn; Mark Stone, husband of Kathleen, Shillington; Dr. Joseph Ranalli, husband of Melissa, Mountain Top; and Anthony Ranalli, husband of Bri, Philadelphia; and five grandchildren, Mary Beth, M.J., Cameron, Logan, and Nicholas. She is also survived by sister, Nora Civitarese, Wyomissing Hills.

She was predeceased by one brother: Fred I. Hinkle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on July 13, 2017, in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church at 237 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on July 12, 2017, in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., at 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
