Mary "Mamie" C. (Bielski) Pierce, 92, formerly of Reading, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, in the care of Willow Brook Nursing Home. She was the widow of Samuel H. Pierce, who passed away in 1993.
One of the six children born to the late Joseph and Hattie (Limpus) Bielski, Mary graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1949. She worked for over 35 years at Western Electric.
A member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, faith was very important to her, and she was very active in her parish. She was unofficially known as the "Mayor of North 10th Street." The most important aspect of her life was always her family.
In her later years, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
Left to treasure Mary's memory are her children: Samuel J. Piece (Heidi) of Fleetwood; Marie Franckowiak of Lower Alsace Township; Janet Turner of Stoney Creek; Rose Smith (Larry Miller) of Laureldale; and Frances Blankenship of Muhlenberg; her 13 grandchildren; her 20 great grandchildren; and her 11 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, parents, and siblings, Mary was predeceased by her son, Franklin C. Pierce; grandson, Justin Pierce; and two great grandchildren, Cayla and Dallas Turner
