Mary Parzanese

Mary Parzanese, 81, of Orchard Court, St. Lawrence, died April 24 at 4:47 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient for three days.

Her husband, John Parzanese, died Sept. 18, 2000.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Carmine and Filomena (Cappellupo) Borelli.

Parzanese had been employed for 30 years as a cook by Borelli's Cafe, Third and Chestnut Streets, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Parzanese served as committeewoman for the 5th Ward Democratic Club from 1961 until 1970.

She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine (Parzanese) Woodring, Sinking Spring, and Darlene (Parzanese) Sarno, Youngstown, Ohio.

There are also five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in Holy Rosary RC Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
