Mary E. Mitchell, 90, previously of Weidman Avenue in Sinking Spring and of Country Meadows, passed away January 15, 2008 in Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Anthony R. Mitchell. They would have celebrated their 75th Anniversary on March 9.

Born in Rome, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Flavia (Angelisanti) Rinaldi.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

A kind and loving woman and wonderful cook; her family and friends will always remember the large gatherings she hosted for holidays and special occasions.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Florence wife of Harrison Carey, Wyomissing; and one son, Anthony N. husband of Patricia Mitchell, Westfield, NJ. There are two sisters, Josephine wife of Frank Screpsi, Sinking Spring; and Rose widow of Kenneth Hertzog, Wyomissing. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Joseph Carey, Mark Carey, Anthony R. Mitchell, II, Christian Mitchell, Kate Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, William Orth, David Orth and Mitchell Orth; and ten great-grandchildren, Charles Carey, Jennifer Carey Evans, Savannah Mitchell, Josie Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, Leonardo Mitchell, Erin Orth, Bridget Orth, Stephanie Orth and Ryan Orth. Two great-great-grandchildren, Austin Evans and Aubrey Evans also survive her.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Thelma Mitchell Behler and one sister, Amelia Heister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Entombment in Gethsemane Mausoleum will be private. Contributions may be made to ALS Association 321 Norristown Road Suite 260 Ambler, PA 19002 or to the American Lung Association 2121 City Line Road Bethlehem, PA 18017-2100. Edward J.
