Mary B. Merked

Mary B. Merked, 90, formerly of Shoemakersville died October 11th, 2011, in Manor Care, Laureldale. Mary was the widow of Harvey J. Merked who died January 6th, 2001. Mary was born in New York City and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Szymanski) Wyszynski. Mary worked as a head teller for Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, in New York for 28 years. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg. Mary is survived by a step son, Donald G. Merked of Venezuela, a step daughter, Joyce L. wife of Thomas Gotard of Massapequa, NY, several step grand children and step great grand children and one niece Patricia wife of Richard Hoyer of Hamburg and one nephew Paul Rebel of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by a great niece, Trisha Woolley and 2 great, great nieces, Stacey and Rebecca Woolley. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30.
