Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, Mary Rappaselli Malecki, 81, of Mt Penn, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by family. She was the wife of Thomas Malecki, Sr. They shared over 61 wonderful years together.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Caroline Rappaselli and the sister of Nicholas Rappaselli, Jr. Mary graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1961 as the Female Athlete of the Year, excelling in field hockey, basketball, and softball.
Mary's greatest happiness came when spending time with her family: children, Carol Noga, wife of Dr. Robert Noga, Sr., and Thomas Malecki, Jr., husband of Denise Malecki; and her wonderful grandchildren, Lauren Noga; Erin Noga; Robert Noga, Jr., husband of Katherine; Margaret Malecki; and Thomas Malecki III.
Mary is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom she loved with all her heart.
Mary has many wonderful memories spent with her family in Ocean City, NJ, laughing on the beach and sharing ice cream, pizza, and Monkey Bread.
Mary spent much of her time working in her community, enjoying jobs at the Mt. Penn Elementary School and the Stoney Creek Middle School. She also spent many years as the manager of the concession stand at Antietam Pool. Most recently, she was the office manager for the Office of Dr. Robert E. Noga, DDS.
As a volunteer, Mary was the Treasurer for the Mt. Penn playground and the President for the Central Catholic Mother's club. Mary spent many years helping to operate the pierogi stand at St Catharine's bazaar, as well as operating the concession stand for Central Catholic's football games at Vincent Shemanski Stadium in Exeter. She fed the Antietam Valley.
Mary was always on the dance floor. Berks County could watch her moves on BCTV's dance party or at one of the many venues she and Tom travelled to each week to share their love of dancing.
Mary loved St. Catharine of Siena Parish, where she spent many years as a Eucharistic Minister.
