Mary M. Rehrer

Mary Magdalane (Taubitz) Rehrer, 73, formerly of Spring Township, passed away January 18, 2024, at the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Born in Reading, she was the youngest daughter of the late August and Elizabeth (Hartman) Taubitz.

Mary was a 1968 graduate of Holy Name High School and a 1999 Summa cum Laude graduate of Alvernia University where she earned a bachelor's degree in marketing. She was employed as an Inside Sales Representative by Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials.

Her Catholic Faith was an important part of her life, she was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary frequently visited religious shrines with her friends.

Mary enjoyed ballroom dancing with her long-time companion, George Pasko, traveling to historic and Native American sites, backpacking with her nephew, riding her horse, General, through the Berks countryside, enjoying regional foods and cooking and baking for her friends and neighbors.

She is survived by her three sisters, Louise Kellenberger (George,) Frances Taubitz, and Theresa Musser (widow of Brent, Sr.,) her five nephews (Brent and Brian Musser, Timothy Peffley, Gregory, and Donald Kellenberger) and one niece (Andrea Cirranello.)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 29, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St. Albans Dr., Reading, PA 19609 with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southwest Indian Foundation, 100 West Coal Avenue, Gallup, New Mexico 87301, or a charity of your choice. Edward J.
