Mary M. (Deska) Lubas, 86, of Commons Court, Reading and formerly of Park Avenue, Reading, died October 9th at 10:33 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been since August 25th.
She was the widow of Joseph J. Lubas, who died March 8, 1990.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Balon) Deska.
Lubas was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School.
She worked for 13 years as a saleslady in the Windsor Card Shop (Berkshire Mall, Wyomissing) until her retirement in 1985. Previously she held a sales position in the former Pomeroy's Department Store in Reading.
Lubas was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
She was a Life-Member of the Union of Polish Women of America.
Lubas is survived by three sons, Ronald J. of West Lawn, Kenneth E. of Exeter Township and James A. of Lansdale.
Other survivors include two brothers, Edward Deska of Warminster and Arthur Deska of Strausstown.
There are also seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, Thursday 9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 501 Summit Avenue, Reading, Pa 19611. Viewing Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Anthony's Memorial Fund at the above address.
