Mary Louise E. Janiszewski

Mary Louise E. (Lazusky) Janiszewski, 91, of Reading, passed away on October 28, 2026, in the care of Mifflin Court. Her husband, John J. Janiszewski, passed away on October 25, 2018.

Born in Middleport, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Blanche (Kidurkis) Lazusky. She graduated from Blythe Township High School in Schuylkill County and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.

A registered nurse for her entire career, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading Hospital, Wernersville State Hospital, the former Leader Home in West Reading (now West Reading Nursing Home), and the former Hassler Home (now Mifflin Center).

Mary Louise had a great work ethic; she loved being a nurse and caring for her patients and her family. She enjoyed cooking and was always an advocate for her family. She enjoyed music including going to concerts with her sons. Mary Louise also followed sports especially the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers.

She was the loving mother of three children: James J. (deceased), Michael A., Reading, and John P., married to Kim (Jaworski), Temple. She adored her grandchildren: Sarah married to Owen Jones, West Reading; Molly married to Bryce Betz, Winchester MA, and Roxsonna N. Janiszewski, a student at Purdue University. One sister, Blance L. married to John Hubley, Chambersburg also survives her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 from 9 to 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 322 South 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's RCC at the above address. Edward J.
