Mary Lou Houck

On February 25, 2024, a beautiful Sunday morning, Mary Lou Houck, 95, passed peacefully. She was born in Reading to the late Anthony and Anna (Polito) Piano. After graduating from Reading High School in 1946, she entered the Reading Hospital's School of Nursing, graduating in 1949. She was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

Mother of four to Keith (Doris), Jeffry (Rossana), Marcia (Dominic) Albanese, and Mark (Caroline), Mary Lou was loved and cherished by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Her family's love for her was only exceeded by her love for all of us. We never truly knew what the words "I miss you" meant until we reached for her hand, and it wasn't there. The pain we all feel in our hearts will be soothed by our beautiful memories of Mom.

A prayer service for Mary Lou will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple PA 19560, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum's Chapel of Resurrection.
