Mary Lucille Lomnyczuk

Mary Lucille Lomnyczuk, 67, died January 20, 2017, in her Wyomissing home.

She was the wife of John M. Lomnyczuk. They were married on April 15, 2000.

Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Francis "Hontz" and Regina (Rausch) Gimbel.

Mary was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and Kutztown University, earning her degree in education.

She was an English teacher in the Tulpehocken School District for 35 years, where she was mostly known at Mrs. McNabb. Mary first taught at Bernville Elementary School for 25 years and spent the last decade of her teaching career at the high school.

Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed art, travel and good meals, most of which were lovingly cooked by her husband.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Magdalene "Maggie" M., wife of Patrick A. Purcell, Drexel Hill; and Katherine "Katie" A., wife of Adam W. Richter, West Reading; and three grandchildren, Georgia, Ginger and Josephine. Five siblings: Kris Gimbel; Regina Heffner; Donna Halper, wife of Frank; Anthony Pereira, husband of Maureen; and Michael Pereira, husband of Michelle, also survive her. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends, including the Hens.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all of those who provided care and support to Mary during her illness.

A prayer service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
