Mary Louise Griffith, 99, passed away on May 29, 2015 in Berks Heim.
Born in Toledo, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harper and Jennie (Deysher) Kreiser.
She was the widow of Foster S. Griffith, who retired as a Major in the U.S. Army and was the former West Reading Police chief, who passed away January 24, 1999.
Mary was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a homemaker.
She was a member of: The Past Royal Matron of Elizabeth Herr Chapter #131 (now called Reading Chapter 150), The Past Royal Matron and Past Royal Patron of Reading Court #61 Order of the Amaranth, and Past Deputy of District 15 B Order of Eastern Star.
Mary is survived by a son, John F., husband of Ginette B. Griffith; two grandchildren: Lauren N. (Griffith) Sweitzer and Aaron J. Griffith; three great grandchildren: Nolan A. Sweitzer, Macenzy L. Griffith, and Brayden A. Sweitzer; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
