Mary L. Davis

Mary Lee Davis of Wyomissing, PA, died on December 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Jeremiah Pearah, M.D. and Dorothy Hain Pearah, Mary Lee was born on May 8, 1934 in Reading, PA. A proud graduate of Muhlenberg High School and Bucknell University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Mary Lee taught English at Governor Mifflin High School. In 1958 she met the love of her life, Bill Davis (who died April 30, 2010), and they married on October 10, 1959. Together they had two sons, Kent (married to Barbara Bentz Davis) and Scott (married to Michelle Miller Davis). Mary Lee adored her four grandsons, Jack Davis, William Davis, Grant Davis, and Clark Davis. Her beloved brother, J. David Pearah, M.D., her cherished dog, Bella, and her dear friend, Marcy Gordon, also survive her.

Mary Lee strongly supported the community through her numerous volunteer activities. She served on multiple boards and committees, including The Junior League of Reading, PA, Inc., Yocum Institute of the Arts, Berks County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Berks County Conservancy, Chit Chat Farms Auxiliary Board, and St. Alban's Episcopal Church. In addition, Mary Lee volunteered for the YMCA's Neighborhood Youth Corp, Historical Society of Reading, Planned Parenthood, and most recently, A Mother's Voice.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Lee requested that any contributions in her memory be made to The Animal Rescue League, Atonement Lutheran Church, or Yocum Institute of the Arts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 5th at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, PA at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at the discretion of the family. Edward J.
