Mary Ellen Johnson

Mary Ellen Johnson, 95, of the St. Joseph Living Center, Hyde Park, formerly of Episcopal House, North Ninth Street, died May 10 in the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had resided two weeks.

Her husband, Lewis M. Johnson, died Feb. 19, 1970.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Margaret P. (Gray) Hannahoe.

Johnson was employed as a secretary by Armour & Co., Reading, and was last employed as a secretary by Bart B. Hannahoe Associates, Reading, from 1962 until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Johnson was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Reading.

Surviving is a daughter, Margaret J. (Johnson) Impink, Shillington.

Other survivors include a stepson, Edward Impink, Falls Church, Va.; and three stepdaughters: Mary Roberta (Impink) Fosnocht, Troy, Bradford County; Deborah Impink, Cumru Township; and Ann (Impink) Hall, Signal Mountain, Tenn.

There are also five stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Lew (Johnson) Meijer, in 1992.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
