Mary Jo Yourkavitch

Mary Jo Yourkavitch, 83, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Reading Hospital. She was the widow of the late Fredrick "Fritz" P. Yourkavitch until his passing in 2010.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Vincent J. and Josephine L. (Brunetti) Strollo. Mary Jo graduated from Reading High School in 1960 and Bryland Institute of Beauty Culture in 1961. She ran Mary Jo's Beauty Shop of Reading from 1964-2009, over 45 years.

Mary Jo was a loving mother and grandmother. She served as a member of the Rosary Society at St. Anthony's RCC where she was a member.

Mary Jo is survived by her three children, Lisa M. Patton, wife of the late Peter Patton, of Reading, Mark V. of Wyomissing, and Michael S., husband of Bea, of Germany; her one sister, Dr. Johanna C. Strollo and her dear friend, Lorrie of Reading; her nine grandchildren: Jarod, Travis, Connor, Dayne, Brynn, Taryn, Kade, Megan, Noah; and her three great-grandchildren, Teagan, Kara, and Kennedy.

Mary Jo loved her family dearly and was very proud to be a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and all those who knew her.

A graveside service will be held in Mary Jo's memory on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
