Mary G. Hess

Mary G. (Lawlor) Hess, 94, died May 8, 2015, in her sleep at her grandson's Spring Twp. residence, where she had been living for the past 3 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lyman R. Hess, her son Rev. Larry J. Hess, and her 8 brothers.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Andrew F. and Catherine M. (Callahan) Lawlor.

Mary was a graduate of Reading Catholic High School in 1939.

She was a secretary for Central Catholic High School, Gilbert and Associates, and the County Judicial System for District Justices until her retirement.

Family was most important to her; she was so proud of her 3 children,3 grandchildren and her 8 great-grandchildren. Mary was thrilled for a lifetime that her son Larry became a priest. She was a caretaker for her mother, husband, brother and son as they fought illnesses.

Mary was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

She is survived by her two daughters, Catherine M. Hess, Greenville, SC and Mary Grace Rugh, Shillington. Grandchildren David Rugh, Jr., husband of Jeanne and their daughter Kayla; granddaughter Kelli, wife of John Gauker and their children Emily, Meredith and Calvin; and grandson Kevin Rugh, husband of Jessie and their children Olivia, Abigail, Zeno and Eli also survive Mary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 18th 2015 at 11 a.m. and will be preceded by a viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. all in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Ignatius Loyola Regional School at 2700 St Albans Dr., Reading, PA 19608 in memory of Mary. Edward J.
