Mary Guzewski

Mary Guzewski, 86, left this world Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was born Mary Kozak in Reading and raised in Lower Heidelberg Twp. A devoted friend to many, she will be remembered as a warm-hearted and loving person who touched many lives.

Mary was widowed in 2000 after 51 years of marriage to her loving husband Chester (Chet) Guzewski.

Their union produced 3 children, Rita Guzewski, Lansdale; Paul (deceased at 24) and Jim Guzewski (wife Donna), of Garnet Valley.

Grandchildren Christa and Cayla gave her much joy.

She is also survived by brothers John Kozak, West Wyomissing, Tony Kozak, Monroe, New Hampshire and sister Emily (Honey) Bright, Mt. Penn. She was predeceased by brothers Joseph and Frank Kozak ; and sisters Stephanie Kaufman and Julia Onopa.

Her happiest times were spent being surrounded by family and friends. Her kids, nieces and nephews will all remember many shared stories about the hard and happy times growing up on the farm in Heidelberg Twp among other family memories. With her husband and family she also liked visiting new places and saw much of the US and Europe. Seeing Poland, where her parents were born, was extra special to her.

She was a retiree of RM Palmer and a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St Anthony's Church.

Viewing will be Monday, Nov 14th at 9:30 am at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave. West Reading. Mass will follow at 11 am at St. Anthony's RC Church, Summit Ave and Grace Sts. Millmont, Reading PA.
