Mary T. Fredericks

Mary T. Fredericks, 88, formerly of State Hill Road, Wyomissing, died Jan. 23 at 3:45 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient for one day.

She was taken there from ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, where she had resided since October.

Her husband, Leonard Fredericks Sr., died in 1994.

Born in Lansford, Carbon County, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (York) Holmes.

Fredericks and her husband co-owned and operated Fredericks Ice and Coal Service, Lansford, for many years.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Fredericks is survived by two sons, Dr. Lee T., Spring Township, and Donald L., Media, Delaware County.

Other survivors include two brothers, Robert Holmes, Windsor, Conn., and Jack Holmes, West Palm Beach, Fla.

There are also six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Jr., in 1993.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Burial will be private. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
