Mary D. Ertel

Mary D. (Duda) Ertel, 96, of Wyomissing, died July 31, 2017, in Columbia Cottage.

Her husband, Dennis J. Ertel, died February 26, 1992.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anastasia (Balik) Duda.

She was employed by Lucent Technologies as an electronics technician.

Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

She will be remembered for many things such as her love for life and adventure; being a gourmet cook; her antiquing and flair for style; listening to music and dancing; reminiscing about the good old days with her girlfriends; traveling to the beach, the islands and Europe with her family and being a well-deserved prize-winning hair stylist.

She also loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughters during holidays. Her home was always filled with joy and happiness.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by two children: Dr. D. Gregory, husband of Wendy Ertel, Wyomissing, and Denise M. Ertel, Annapolis, MD. One sister, Helen, wife of Adam Krafczek, Mt. Penn; and three granddaughters who knew her as Gran: Lauren, Katie, and Jessica, also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am. in Sacred Heart RC. Church, West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum.
