Mary Elizabeth Adams

Mary Elizabeth (Crossland) Adams, 89, of 243 West Vine Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522, died August 14th at 12:04 am in the Emergency Room at the Reading Hospital.

She was the widow of Wesley C. Adams, who died March 2, 1997.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Rose (Dickinson) Crossland.

She was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Adams was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Fleetwood.

She worked as a cook for a number of years at the Fleetwood High School until her retirement.

Adams is survived by a daughter, Cathy R. (Adams) wife of Steven A. Burgert of Guilford, CT., and a son, David W. husband of Mildred A. (Williams) Adams of Pennsauken, NJ.

Other survivors include a brother, Frederick Crossland of Laureldale and a sister, Edith (Crossland) Shoemaker of Phoebe Berks Village.

There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 26 West Washington Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522. Rev. George C. Sackett III and Rev. Kenneth L. Kline officiating. Viewing Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to the Church at the above address.
