Mary E. Heist

Mary E. Heist, 92, Cumru Township, died Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, where she had resided since May 6.

Her husband, Norman A. Heist, died June 28, 1954.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Antanas and Anna (Raszkinas) Yekuczonis.

Heist was employed for 20 years as a food server in the employee cafeteria in Reading Hospital, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Surviving is a daughter, Doris M. (Heist) Metz, with whom she last resided.

Other survivors include three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.Contributions may be made to St. Paul's RCC, 151 North 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
