Mary Chiarelli Mahon

Mary Chiarelli Mahon, who lived a full life enriched by her Catholic faith and love of family, died October 14, 2026, at the age of 99. She was the widow of Grant S. Mahon Jr.

The Mahons were long-time residents of Sinking Spring, where they raised a family of five children. As their family expanded, Mary retired from teaching to rear her children and run the Mahon household. With their children grown, Grant retired from Wilson in 1992, and he and Mary spent years traveling, enjoying time with family and celebrating the arrival of grandchildren.

After Grant's death in 2005, Mary moved to Wyomissing, where she lived on her own and taught private piano lessons for almost all of her remaining years. She spent the last two months of her life in nursing care at Berks Heim.

Mary is survived by her children -- Grant S. III and Jill Mahon, West Reading; Anthony D. and Christine Mahon, Lebanon; Anna Maria and Donald Hill, Shillington; Gregory M. and Cynthia Mahon, Camp Hill; and Catherine and Stephen Stabilito, Gilbertsville.
