Mary (Hatzas) Cheri, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away May 23, 2008 in her residence.
She was the widow of Frank Cheri who died January 15, 1980.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Nickolas and Aphrodite (Karaces) Hatzas.
Mary was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills as a pairer for 41 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and St. Xenia Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Mary is survived by a son, George, husband of Sharon Kay Cheri, Henderson, NV; a daughter, Marian Cheri, with whom she resided; two brothers, Lewis Hatzas; Christy Hatzas, both of Reading; and a sister, Helen Hatzas, Reading.
She is predeceased by a son, Lewis Cheri on January 16, 1960.
Services will be Thursday at 11 am. in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611 and Thursday 10-11 am. in the church. Contributions may be made to Sts.
