Mary A. Capallo

Mary A. Capallo, 96, of Wyomissing, passed away December 18, 2014 at Berks Heim.

Born September 4, 1918 in Wyomissing, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Agnes (Reedy) Capallo.

She graduated Wyomissing High School in 1936; received her B.S. from Albright in 1940; and her M.S. in Home Economics from Temple University in 1959.

Mary was as a teacher of Home Economics and a Guidance and College Placement Counselor for Reading School District, retiring in 1976.

She held a General Electric Fellowship in Guidance, Boston University, 1965, a Fellowship in Minority Counseling, Notre Dame University, South Bend, IN, 1966, and attended summer seminars at Penn State University.

Mary was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading.

She is survived by her brother, William F. Capallo, Bel Air, MD and his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am at Gethsemane Chapel, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale, with entombment to follow. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
