Mary C. Dipietro

Mary C. "Hugging" DiPietro, 77, of Reading, died February 20, 2007 in St. Joseph Hospital Community Campus, where she had been for one day.

She was the wife of Charles "Chick" DiPietro.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Daisy (Bloch) Spuhler.

She was employed by Exide Corp. for 14 years until her retirement in 1995.

Mary was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

She was the former Vice President of the Pretzelettes, Reading.

Mary is also survived by her son, Thomas A., Honeybrook; and her daughter Rebecca A., Goose Creek, SC. There are two brothers, George Spuhler, Wyomissing; and William Spuhler, Temple; and two sisters, Rosella (Spuhler) Bitler, Pottstown; and Miriam (Spuhler) Miskiv, Pottstown. Two grandchildren, Nicole DiPietro and TJ DiPietro, both of Reading also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 1 p.m. in St. Margaret's R.C. Church 925 Centre Ave. Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the Mass at the church. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 498 Bellevue Ave. Reading, PA 19605 or to St. Margaret's Church at the above address.
