Mary L. Bear

Mary L. Bear, 74, died October 6, 2011 in her Spring Township residence.

She was the wife of Robert C. Bear who died January 5, 2002.

Born July 30, 1937 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert R. and Lillian S. (Becker) Breidegam.

Mary was a graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed as a processor with Traveler's Insurance Company for 13 years, retiring in 1983.

Mary was past president for Ladies Auxiliary of the Letter Carriers, Reading and past treasurer for Van Reed Auxiliary for Reading Hospital.

Surviving is a son, Gene R., husband of Freedom Bear, of Satellite Beach, FL.

Other survivors include two brothers, Ray R. Breidegam of Reading and Franklin A. Breidegam of Mt. Penn and four sisters, Lillian S. (Breidegam) Pletz of Bethel, Gloria F. (Breidegam) Condos of Reading, Shirley A. (Breidegam) Barry of Little River, SC and Jackie C. (Breidegam) Eshenbach of Fleetwood.

There are also two grandchildren, Shua Bear and Christian M. Bear and a great grandson, Elijah M. Bear surviving.

Mary was predeceased by a sister Gloria (Breidegam) Condos.

Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
