Mary B. Sullivan

Mary B. Sullivan, 84 of Shoemakersville died January 29th in St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past 3 weeks. She was the widow of John L. Sullivan who died February 17, 1996. She was born in Shoemakersville and was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Mae M. (Wheeler) Saul. Mary was a 1946 graduate of Perry High School and a 1947 graduate of McCann's Business School where she met her husband, John. Mary and John were married on October 29, 1949, and celebrated 46 years of marriage together. She was a devoted mother and proud grandmother and great grandmother. She and her husband John were very active in the former Perry P.T.A and performed in many shows together. Mary was a member of St. Mary Church, Tilden Township for many years. She worked as a waitress for 27 years retiring in 1992. Mary is survived by 2 daughters: Jerilyn A. (Sullivan) wife of Barry L. Balthaser, Bernville, Sharon M. (Sullivan) wife of Darren L Reitbauer, Shillington, 3 sons: John L. husband of Karen A. (Werley) Sullivan, Exton, Edward L. husband of Debra J. (Plevyak) Sullivan, Shillington and Andrew M. husband of Sandy A. (Hildebrand) Sullivan, Phoenix, AZ, 11 grandchildren, 4 great children and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Betty M. (Saul) widow of Daniel Miller, Coaldale and was predeceased by a son James P. Sullivan. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from St. Mary Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA. 19526. A viewing will be held in the church from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at PO Box 189 or to St. Joseph's Medical Center, 2500 Bernville Road, Reading, PA. 19605, attention: progressive care/critical care units.
