Mary Ann Hornberger

Mary Ann Hornberger, of West Lawn, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Helen (O'Connell) Laverty. Mary Ann earned her associate degree in business management from Bucks County Community College and went on to work as a secretary-bookkeeper. She enjoyed reading and taking walks with her beloved grand pups.

Mary Ann treasured her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mary Ann is survived by her three children: Wendy Mortimer (Dave), of Mohnton, Daniel Hornberger of Bensalem, and Lou Hornberger (Gail), of Wyomissing; four grandchildren: Alexandria Hornberger, Emily Hornberger, Joshua Hornberger, and David Mortimer (Sarah); and her sister, Helen Fauerbach of Philadelphia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Laverty, Jr.; her brother-in-law, John Fauerbach; and her niece, Mary Ann Fauerbach.

She also had a special place in her heart for her family's four-legged companions. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandpups, Jocelyn and Sheba, and will be especially missed by Bandit and Pearl, who were fortunate to have her as their devoted babysitter.

A memorial service celebrating Mary Ann's life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Hope United Methodist Church in Douglassville. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 10 AM until the start of the service. There will be a luncheon afterward.

We respectfully ask for no flowers; in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Mary Ann's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at www.stjude.org/donate.
