Mary Ann Flemming

Mary Ann Flemming (Phillips), 78, of Wernersville passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. She was the loving wife of Dennis Flemming, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years before his passing in 2023.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (McCarthy) Phillips. Mary Ann was raised in the Catholic faith, attending St. Paul's and St. Joseph's schools before graduating Central Catholic High School in 1964. Mary Ann met her husband, Dennis, while they were in high school. They married in 1967 and had two children. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She worked the courtesy counter at Boscov's Department store for many years, in addition to working the Reading Stock Car Association for a time. She retired from Boscov's as the salon coordinator at the Flying Hills store.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, but she also attended St. Joe's, where she volunteered at the school. She loved her faith and her family most of all. Going to the shore and to Bermuda were the highlights of her travels.

Left to cherish Mary Ann's memory are daughter, Patricia, wife of Joseph Carter, of Sinking Spring; son, Patrick Flemming, husband of Ann (Bates), of Mohnton; grandchildren: Krystina E. and Nicholas Flemming; and sister, Kathleen Phillips of Wernersville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 321 North Church Street, Robesonia, PA 19551. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611.
