Mary A. Quartieri

Mary A. Quartieri, 86, formerly of Reading, died December 17, 2008 in Berkshire Center.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Sarafina (Scalise) Quartieri.

Mary was a graduate of Reading High School in 1941

She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Mary was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for Berkshire Knitting Mills, Berks County Trust and Holy Rosary Church until her retirement.

She is survived by two brothers, James, husband of Mary R., Muhlenberg Township and Peter P., Reading. One niece, Kathleen, wife of Robert Swope, Readng; one nephew, James Quartieri, Rocklin, CA and two great-nephews, Adam Swope and John Quartieri also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. A viewing will be held Monday from 8 to 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
