Marvin James "Jim" Stinley, 66, died February 1, 2015 in his home on Main Street, Oley, PA.
He was the loving husband of Eileen G. (Haney) Stinley, whom he married April 11, 1981.
Born in Sassamansville, Montgomery County on March 30, 1948, he was a son of the late Marvin and Margaret (Detweiler) Stinley.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Boyertown High School and attended Rutgers University.
He was a self-employed truck driver for over 20 years and was also employed as a driver for 15 years with DHL, Oaks, Montgomery County, before retiring April 1, 2014.
Jim was a member of the Teamsters, Local #107, Philadelphia.
He was a charter member of both the River Chums Annual Spring Float and the Pointless Retreat.
Jim was an avid music lover and enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
He loved attending his children's sporting events.
Jim is also survived by his six adoring children: Dr. Nora E. Stinley-Chenoweth, wife of Jeffrey P. Chenoweth of Washington, D.C.; James M. Stinley, financé of Christine M. Igo of Wilmington, Delaware; Thomas H. Stinley of Philadelphia; Kathleen D. Stinley of New York City; Michael T. Stinley a student at West Chester University and Mark M. Stinley a student at the University of Pittsburgh.
There are also five siblings: Mark D., husband of Nancy (Cardy) Stinley of Bechtelsville; Esther Stinley of North Coventry, Montgomery County; Ruth A., wife of David Zuber of Stroudsburg; Betty M., wife of Robert Coan of Aberdeen, Maryland and Mary L. Kapcala of Nazareth.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 pm in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 am until time of service, to be followed by a reception from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm in the Reading Liederkrantz, 143 Spook Lane, Reading, PA 19606.
