Marvin Lester Miller, Jr., 83, of Laureldale died August 6, 2012 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township, where he had been a resident since April 10.

Born June 2, 1929 in West Reading, he was a son of the late Marvin L., Sr. and Helen C. (Weller) Miller.

He was employed as a master auto mechanic for over 40 years, mainly working at Northwest Garage, Reading and Herb Motors, Wernersville.

Marvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Germany.

He held office in the Charles H. Steel American Legion Post for many years.

Marvin also held various offices at Central Fire Company, Laureldale, where he was a member for over 40 years.

He loved cars and country music.

Surviving are two siblings: Martha F. Miller of Laureldale and Douglas J., husband of Faye E. (Hoffman) Miller of Ruscombmanor Township.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald H. and Richard P. Miller.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
