Marvin I. Becker

Marvin I. Becker, 81, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, in his Leesport residence. Born June 9, 1940 in West Reading, he was the son of Edna (Strause) and Ira Becker.

He was married to his loving wife, Linda (Stichter) Becker, who predeceased him 13 months to the day. They married August 29, 1959, and again May 15, 1986.

Left to treasure his memory are his children: Wendy M. (Becker) Hess, widow of Richard Hess; Barry M. Becker, companion of Cathy Birmingham; and Lisa M. (Becker) Hafer, wife of Todd Hafer. He is also survived by his sister, Verna (Becker) Speicher, and two grandsons, Christopher Boyer, husband of Nicole, and Chad Boyer, husband of Jessica Shober.

Marvin attended Ontelaunee High School, Leesport. He served six years in the Army National Guard.

He retired in 2003, last working for the Bern Township Road Crew. Marvin's family finds it fitting that he left this world on a snowy March day, as he was obsessed with plowing snow and making sure the roads in Bern Township were clear for many years.

Marvin had a contagious laugh and enjoyed going to the stock car races, watching football, and camping at Appalachian Campground. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Honoring Marvin's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be offered in his memory to Bayada Hospice, 1 W Philadelphia Ave, Fl 4, Boyertown PA 19513.
