Martin David Alba

Martin Alba, 87, West Reading, died April 25 at 9:25 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient six days.

He was the husband of Esther (Lopez) Alba.

Born in Boyaca, Columbia, he was a son of the late Biviano and Maria (Del Rosario) Alba.

Alba was a self-employed rancher and coffee grower in Columbia for 30 years, retiring in 1985.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Alba is also survived by five daughters: Ruby (Alba) Lenovich, Wyomissing; Esther (Alba) Gonzalez, West Lawn; Ercilia (Alba) Camelo, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Rose Mary (Alba) Posada, Palisades, N.J.; and Martha (Alba) Giraldo, Danielson, Conn.

Other survivors include five sons: Didier, Orlando, Fla.; Javier, West New York, N.J.; and Hernan, Nelson and Martin, all of Willimantic, Conn.

There are also 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m on Thursday at the Kuhn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
