Martha J. Ritner

Martha J. Ritner, 86, of Wyomissing, died October 5, 2011 in St. Joseph's Hospital. She married her husband, Carl E. Ritner, Sr., on July 12, 1947; he died January 5.

Born in Trier, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hubert A. and Barbara (Hoffmann) Reinig.

She was a graduate of Wilson High School.

Martha was employed by the Wyomissing School District, in the High School Cafeteria and later by SandiSalads, West Reading.

She was a member of St. Stephen's P.N.C. Church, Cumru Twp. She was a long time member of the West Reading Lions Club and the UGI Seniors Group. She also volunteered for the Juveline Diabetes Foundation and several local food banks. Martha loved to bake and was an avid Penn St. football and Phillies fan.

She moved to Country Meadows in January and very much enjoyed her time there with her many new friends.

Martha is survived by her children, Barbara R., wife of David Wenger, Lincoln Park; Carol R., wife of Mark Wisniewski, Spring Twp.; Carl E., Jr. husband of Rita Ritner, Port St. Lucie, FL; and Jenny L. Ritner, Reading. There is one surviving brother, Rev. Joseph Reinig, Bend, OR and three grandchildren, Kathryn T. (Wisniewski), wife of Bryan Behrenshausen, Chapel Hill, NC Jessica R. Parker, Dallas, TX Christiana J. Wisniewski, Harrisburg, PA.

She was predeceased by one brother, Paul Reinig.

A private burial will be held for Martha and Carl at Indiantown Gap. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
