Martha Louise Rudolph-Maher

Martha Louise (McGee) Rudolph-Maher, 95, passed away after a brief illness on February 17, 2026, at The Glen at Willow Valley Communities, Lancaster.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Everett C. Rudolph, in 1989, and her second husband, Thomas A. Maher, in 2009.

Born in Wyatt, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Lazure Smith McGee and Edith Pauline (Hardesty) McGee.

She was a graduate of Shinnston High School, Shinnston, WV, and the University of Cincinnati, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Martha was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family. One of the best gifts she gave her daughters was staying at home to raise them and being a strong supporter of all they pursued. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren also provided significant joy in her life.

Martha was held in high regard by all who knew her, embodying the spirit of a "doer" rather than an “observer." As a faithful member of West Lawn United Methodist Church, she taught children’s Sunday School and Bible School. After moving to Willow Valley Communities in 2005, she became a member of Boehm’s United Methodist Church. She had a passion for crafts, including needlework, sewing, quilting, and especially knitting. Family and faith were central to her life, as was community service. This was evidenced by her 15 years of volunteer work at the Reading Hospital, her involvement with the Reading Hospital Auxiliary, and her role as a Girl Scout leader. In addition to her community service, Martha enjoyed playing golf and watching it on television, and she cherished her time spent in Ocean Grove, NJ and New England.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn, wife of Millard Fisher, Palmyra, and Susan, wife of Robert Showalter, Sinking Spring; five grandchildren: Daniel Fisher (Jessi Kocher), David Fisher (Caitlin), Kristin Showalter (David Sunshine), Emily Kerins (Marc), and Kyle Showalter (Emily); and six great-grandchildren, Ava Smith, Declan Kerins, Lily Showalter, Avery Kerins, Ernie Fisher, and Bing Fisher.

Martha was predeceased by her sister, Betty Wyckoff, in 2019.

Services will be held Wednesday, February, 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private.
