Martha J. Brendle

Martha J. Brendle, 71, of Whitner Road, Riverview Park, died of natural causes Jan. 10 at 9:03 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient for two days.

She was the wife of Larry L. Brendle.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Smith) Taylor.

Brendle had been employed for 25 years by Reading Hospital, retiring in 2000.

She is also survived by a son, Leon Rushing, Sebring, Fla., and two daughters, Sandy (Rushing) Hammond, Little Rock, Ark., and Debbie (Rushing) Bowen, San Diego.

Other survivors include a brother, Chuck Taylor, Chicago.

There are also 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale.
