Marlin G. Davis, 85, Reading, died Feb. 9 at 6:34 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had resided since Oct. 26.
He was the husband of Elsbeth M. (Hopler) Davis.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harry F. and Ethel M. (Gerhard) Davis.
Davis was employed by Textile Machine Works, Wyomissing, and was last employed for 26 years as a mail carrier by the Postal Service, retiring Jan. 16, 1981.
He was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School and attended Kutztown University.
Davis was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Davis was a life member of Hunter-Liggett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 38 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 10, both of Reading.
He is also survived by two brothers, Harold, Reading, and Carl, in Florida.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at noon in St. Luke's Cemetery, Shoemakersville. Contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, Front and Greenwich Streets, Reading, PA 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
