Marlene M. (Showalter) Reisch, 93, of Wyomissing, passed away August 19, 2025 at Country Meadows. She was the loving wife of Martin L. Reisch.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Richard T. and Betty (Bell) Showalter. She was a 1950 Graduate of Reading High School. Marlene & Martin were married in 1953 at Hains Church, Wernersville and shortly thereafter went on to live in the Army barracks at Fort Meade, MD until they eventually moved to Whitfield where she enjoyed raising their children while Martin was employed by Western Electric.
Marlene joined Hofmann Industries, Sinking Spring as a sales associate until 1983 when Martin was transferred from Western Electric to Bell South in Jacksonville, Florida. They retired in 1984 and shortly after retirement, moved to Clearwater FL before returning back to Whitfield in 1993.
Marlene was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cards with lifelong friends, and had a great love for her grandchildren whom she frequently visited in multiple states.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Bonnie L., wife of W. David Bunce, Pinehurst NC; four grandchildren; Richard Reisch (Brandi), Bernville, PA; William Bunce, New York, NY; Sebastian Reisch (Emily), Concord MI; Jonathan Bunce (Madison), Worcester MA; and one great-granddaughter Averi Reisch, Bernville PA.
Marlene was predeceased by two sons, Dr. Terry R. Reisch (Maria) and Martin T. Reisch; one brother, Richard T. Showalter; and one 1/2 brother, Donald W. Bell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Red Cross.
