Markus O. Adkins

Markus Oscar Adkins, 84, died November 29, 2007 at 11:05 pm in ManorCare Health Services, West Reading, where he had been a patient since April 28, 2000.

He was the husband of Barbara Emma (Castagno) Adkins, of Darby.

Born January 1, 1923 in West Virginia, he was a son of the late Erastus and Nina (Brown) Adkins.

He was a United States Navy Veteran, with twenty years of service. He served in WWII, Korea and the Vietnam Wars and was honorably discharged as a chief petty officer in 1962.

Markus was later employed with Boeing Aircraft Company until his retirement.

He was survived by a daughter Delores L. (Adkins) Donahoe of Huntington, West Virginia and two sons; James L. Adkins of Chatsworth,CA and Gary Adkins of Simi Valley, California.

Other survivors include a sister, Bessie (Adkins) Bernheart of Hermetage, Tenn., five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
