Mark Scott Weidner, 50, of Muhlenberg Township, lost his battle with cancer on November 12, 2014 in St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Cherie Ann (Garl) Weidner whom he married May 30, 1987.
Born February 20, 1964 in West Reading, he was a son of Edna F. (Hinnershitz) Weidner of Muhlenberg Township and the late Richard A. Weidner.
Mark was a 1982 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
He became an electrician after completing his four year journeyman apprenticeship. Subsequently, he went on to become a master electrician.
A very hard worker, Mark was an electrician for 27 years. He was employed with Waldman Electric for 15 years, prior to starting his own business, Weidner Electric & More in 2009. He last worked in April.
Mark was a member of Good Shepherd U.C.C., Muhlenberg Township.
An avid hunter, he also loved antique cars, especially his 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury that he cherished.
A loving husband, son, father, brother and friend, Mark was thought of as a great man and a great friend, which was shown by the countless number of people who came to say goodbye to him at his bedside. He was truly loved.
A few of Mark's last words were 'life lessons' to his family and friends. He said, "Don't wait for anyone else or you'll end up regretting it; don't live with regrets." He also had a phrase that he loved to say, and that was, "It is what it is."
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are his daughter, Heather Cherie Weidner, at home and his brother, Ricky A., husband of Janet A. (Strause) Weidner of Maidencreek Township.
He is also survived by a niece and a nephew.
