Mark Walter Kropp

Mark Walter Kropp, 66, passed away on October 12, 2026, in his St Lawrence residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Walter and Margie (Schmoyer) Kropp.

He was a graduate of Exeter High School.

Mark, the fifth-generation owner of Schmoyer's Bakery, dedicated himself to the family business with unwavering commitment. His hard work and passion for baking earned him a loyal customer base, particularly fond of his renowned rye bread, which became a staple favorite among patrons.

Mark, often referred to as "Kroppy," had a passion for motorsports starting at a young age, including motorcycle racing, dirtbike racing, and dirt track car racing. His passion led to success winning feature races at Grandview and Silver Springs speedway. This enthusiasm for racing also translated into a lifetime of memories he shared with his son on his cherished mountain property he called home.

Mark had the ability to light up a room with his unmistakable, contagious smile. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his son, Zachary V., husband of Kalynn Kropp; his daughter, Nina, his sister, Kyle Stoudt; his niece, Stephanie, wife of Eric Baxter and great-niece Autumn; his long-time friend, Patty, and his beloved dog, Brindle. He is also survived by his aunts Ruthie and Judy who loved helping him with delivering bread; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him very much.
