Mark Brian Speece, 72, passed away on November 10, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the loving husband of Donna L. Speece for 53 years.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Anna E. (Ernst) Speece.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1969 and attended Penn State University.
Mark was employed by Dutch Electric from 1983 to 2006, and started his own company, Dutch Electronics in 2006 where he retired from in 2017.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, tinkering with tractors and other toys, watching tv in his chair, vacationing at the beach, Disney, and the Islands. He had a huge heart, could always make people laugh, and could fix nearly anything that was broken.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Melissa wife of Jim DeWees, and Mark Speece, Jr.; grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Kaila DeWees and Alexis and Mackenzie Speece, and siblings: Arthur J. Speece, Exeter Twp., David G. Speece, husband of Jane, Bonita Springs, FL; Glenn B. Speece, Cumru Twp., and Gerald A. Speece, companion of Caroline McCall.
He was also predeceased by sisters, Linda McLaughlin and Joanne Waligurski; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Sauppee and Linda Speece; brothers-in-law, Vincent McLauglin and David Waligurski and Donna's parents, J. Robert Jr. and Madeline Sauppee; and nieces Susie Speece and Danielle Baumer.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service to begin at 12 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Lung Assoc. or Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Condolences may be expressed kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
