Mark R. Hoffman, 80, formerly of Reading, died August 13th at 6:00 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been for one day.

He was the husband of Margaret A. (Bower) Hoffman of Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville.

Born in Perry Township, he was a son of the late Milton Reber and Mary Ellen (Kershner) Hoffman.

He was a graduate of Perry High School.

Hoffman was an Army Veteran of WWII.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring.

Hoffman was employed 41 years at Dana Corporation, Reading, retiring December 31, 1988.

He was a past Commander of V.F.W. Post in Muhlenberg Township, past Commander of American Legion Post, Charles Steele, Laureldale and a past President of the Muhlenberg Lions Club.

Hoffman is also survived by a son, Richard L. Hoffman of Lincoln Park and two daughters; Linda M. (Hoffman) Wolf of York and Deborah A. (Hoffman) Peterson of Spring Township.

Other survivors include a sister, Helen (Hoffman) Wanner of Shoemakersville, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Perry Township.
