Marjorie I. Leas, 95, passed away April 3, 2015 in her Reading residence.
She was the widow of Earl E. Leas Jr., who died May 5, 1985.
Born in Liecester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George and Lena (Raymond) Streeter.
Marjorie was a graduate of Nasson College, Maine.
She served in the Navy as a pharmacist mate during World War II.
Marjorie was employed by Lucent Technologies as a Quality Control Inspector before retiring.
She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading.
To all who know her as "Nana", she was the neighborhood grandmother taking care of all the kids in her community. Marjorie also enjoyed knitting, embroidering, and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharron, widow of Larry DeRoner, Reading: grandchildren, Eric A., husband of Kelly L. Leas, Lancaster; Beth A., wife of Dean Gibson Jr., Laureldale; Joel M., husband of Cheri Kipp, Exeter; Steven L. Borden, Reading; Chad A. Borden, Reading; Jill A., wife of Jason Kline, Oley.
She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Gibson, Tre J. Gibson, McKenzie J. Kline, Jason S. Kline Jr: daughter-in-law, E. Linda Leas.
Marjorie is predeceased by her son, Randal Leas: brothers, Raymond Streeter and Everett Streeter
A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Friends and family may call from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Zion Spies Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., to defray any funeral cost.
