Marion G. Thun, 99, widow of textile heir Marion G. Thun, the first president of the Berks County Mental Health Association, died Aug. 31 in her residence at the Highlands at Wyomissing.
Thun, 99, formerly of Museum Road, Wyomissing, was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand K. Thun, heir to a Wyomissing textile fortune and philanthropist, May 31, 2001.
She also served on the board of directors of Albright College, Reading Symphony Orchestra and the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Arts.
Thun was a past president of the Wyomissing School District Parent-Teacher Association.
Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Charlotte (Berry) Greene.
Surviving are two sons, Ferdinand, Bethlehem, and Peter, Dewitt, N.Y.
Other survivors include a brother, Thurston Greene, Millbrook, N.Y.; and a sister, Karolyn (Greene) Cole, Orleans, Mass.
There are also three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Katrina Thun.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
