Marion V. Shirk

Marion V. Shirk, 91, of Cumru Twp., passed away, Sunday, December 2, 2018, in Mifflin Center.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry E. Shirk.

Born in Mohnton, she was the daughter of the late George and Hettie (Mast) Wolfe.

Marion was a 1946 graduate of Mohnton High School.

She was employed at Mohnton Knitting Mill for many years.

Marion was a member of Wyomissing U.C.C. Church, Gouglersville. She was very active in the church, often volunteering much of her time.

She was an excellent homemaker. She loved to cook and CLEAN.

In addition to her husband Henry, Marion is survived by three grandchildren: Scott H. husband of Rachael Shirk, Memphis, TN; Andrew Shirk, Hamburg; and Gregory Riegel, Hamburg. Two great grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Shirk, and many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Marion was predeceased by two children: David M. Shirk, and Hettie L., wife of Bruce Riegel, and nine brothers and sisters: Clarence, Jenny, George, Alice, Ray, Mark, Ruth, Warren and Leroy.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018, 12 noon, at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
