Marion E. Schappell

Marion E. Schappell, 87 died January 9th in her residence. Her husband, Sylvester O. Schappell died February 1, 1965. Marion was born in Eckville and was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Lottie M. (Witman) Bailey. She worked at various knitting mills throughout the Hamburg area for many years as a machine operator. Marion was a former member of Zion's Church, Windsor Castle. A son, Gene S. husband of Sandra Schappell, Tilden Township, grandchildren, Matthew G. Schappell, Windsor Township, Janene K. wife of Steve Mcrea, Shoemakersville, survives her. Additionally five great- grandchildren, Deanna, Carter, Abigail, Porter and Tanner, survive her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13th at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
