Marion Anna (Moyer) Celmer, 92, of Muhlenberg Township, died September 21, 2014 in Berks Heim, Bern Township, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 1, 1922 in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late George G. and Eva M. (Smith) Moyer.
Marion was a 1939 graduate of Hamburg High School.
She was employed for 20 years as a sewing machine operator with Wright's Knitting Mill, where she retired from 1985. Previously, she was employed with Luden's, Reading and Diener Knitting Mill, Hamburg.
Marion was an avid crocheter; however, her true joy was time spent watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in various different activities and sports and spending time with her family during the holidays.
She was a member of Laureldale Senior Club, where she was very active with community service and enjoyed the companionship of her friends, while participating in the club's dinner theater trips and other events. She also held various offices for the Queen of Angels Apartments organization.
Surviving are her five children: Joanne M., wife of Craig W. Wojszwillo of Ontelaunee Township; Brenda A., wife of Kevin L. Stein of Bernville; Josephine F., wife of James J. Hennessey of Bernville; Joseph F. Celmer, Jr. of Wernersville and Beverly L., wife of Michael L. Murray of San Antonio, TX.
Additional survivors include her six grandchildren: Michele M. Weaver; Stephanie L., wife of Michael S. Kunkel; Timothy L., husband of Tiffany R. Stein; Taryn A. Stein, wife of Erik W. Breese; Laura C., wife of Brian M. Whitaker, and James J. Hennessey, II, fiancé of Kelly A. Lannon and her three great grandchildren: Reghan J., Landon C. and Ayden C., along with a baby girl that's due in December.
Also surviving are her niece, Patricia M. Giles and her nephew, Jan K. Greenwood.
Marion was predeceased by her brother, Charles S. Moyer who died March 12, 1986 and her sister, Dorothy M. Greenwood, who died November 25, 2000.
Services will be held Friday at 12 noon in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
